LAHORE:A judicial magistrate Friday remanded an official and his wife to judicial custody for torturing a 10-year old girl who was working as house maid in Johar Town area.
A prosecutor told the judge that Irfan, who is grade-18 officer at Audit Department, and his wife tortured a 10-year old maid Umme Rubab, leaving her severely injured. He requested the court to grant physical remand of the accused. However, the judge sent them to jail on judicial remand.
On Thursday, Child Welfare and Protection Bureau (CWPB) recovered the said girl from a house in Johar Town and police took the owner into custody.–Staff Reporter
