KP CM orders operation against illegals constructions in Mardan

peshawar   -  Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has directed the Divisional Administration of Mardan to launch a grand operation against illegal construction activities and housing societies in three districts of the division Mardan, Swabi and Charsadda to preserve agricultural lands further directing the divisional administration for effective action to prevent activities in river bed causing damages to infrastructures on rivers.   

Presiding over a review meeting on the progress of development projects in Mardan region and public issues at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Peshawar, Mahmood Khan also directed the Health Department to provide the required human resource and medical equipments to all category hospitals of the division on urgent basis with the aim to ensure healthcare service delivery to the people at local level. The Chief Minister also directed the district administrations of these three districts to hold regular open Katcheris in their respective districts and to invite the concerned members of the provincial assembly to these open forums. 

The meeting was attended besides KP Cabinet members Arif Ahmadzai and Abdul Karim and members provincial assembly from Mardan region by administrative secretaries of relevant departments and other senior officials. 

Briefing the forum on implementation of decisions taken in the last meeting, it was informed that a total of 49 decisions were taken in the meeting out of which 21 had been fully implemented, progress on the implementation of 22 decisions was satisfactory while implementation on six of them was slow.  The meeting was informed that construction work on Chota Lahore Grid Station in Swabi district had been completed, electrical work on the station was 80 percent complete while the rest of the work would be completed soon.   

The meeting was further informed that a 21km distribution line had been laid for the supply of Sui gas to Union Council Tor Dheer while gas supply would be started from next week. To provide clean drinking water in Swabi so far, 33 out of 38 hand pumps had been installed while work was underway on the remaining pumps.   

On the occasion, the Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to provide medical equipment to the Rural Health Centre Jhanda for the Gynea Ward and to make the ward fully functional on priority basis. It was told that Work was underway to lay a pipeline for gas supply in Bagh village of Swabi while a survey for gas supply in Charmang had also been completed.  

Similarly, additional funds would be released next month for road construction projects in the district. It was further informed that three different sites had been identified for the Takht Bhai Sports Complex.  The meeting was informed that as per the decision of the last meeting, the required staff had been deployed in different police stations of Mardan. 

Regarding developmental schemes of Charsadda district, it was informed that schemes for setting up rescue 1122 stations in Shabqadar and Tangi tehsils of Charsadda had been proposed for the upcoming ADP while rescue station was already fully operational in Charsadda tehsil adding that land required for setting up of Tehsil Complex had also been identified.  It was further informed that work on the establishment of Government Girls Degree College Shabqadar had been expedited and the project would be completed by June this year.
