If individuals like Imran Khan, Munawar Hasan, Maulana Samiul Haq and others were to talk with Taliban at their own then what was the need to hold all parties conference (APC). The Prime minister, in an interview with a TV channel the other day, expressed that apart from the government, the above mentioned leaders may independently talk with the Taliban. Federal government was elected with heavy mandate and there was a consensus in the APC that government may have a meaningful dialogue with the Taliban.
Such a statement reflects weakness of the government and if different leaders are allowed to talk with various groups of Taliban this may create anarchy thus making things more difficult for the government to enter into a serious and conducive dialogue with Taliban.
