ISLAMABAD - Global System of Integrated Studies (GSIS) School & College and Shehrsaaz have joined hands in promoting a joint natural environmental awareness campaign named "An Amal" for the promotion of canvas bags instead of plastic shopping bags in daily life.
An event was held at the GSIS Islamabad on Monday to contribute canvas bags amongst more than 150 students registered with "Shehrsaaz".
A large number of students and parents also attended the event and applauded the school efforts for creating awareness through being part of such campaign. Students' knowledge about the environment issues and presentations by Moaz Ashraf and Sammi-Ullah focuses the same issues was an eye opener to the audience.
Posters on the topic "Environmental Hazards" were displayed while a documentary was also played to demonstrate paper and Flower making by recycled papers by the representative of the WWF. 
While speaking on the occasion Director General Pakistan Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Asif Shuja Khan said "government is working hard to resolve all environmental issues with the help of all stake holders. He said that use of plastic shopping bags are posing great dangers to human life as well as birds and Marine Life."
