Samiul Haq welcomes Taliban offer for talks

ISLAMABAD  - The chief of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-S) Maulana Samiul Haq on Monday welcomed the Taliban's offer for holding talks with the government. He called on the government to take immediate steps to initiate the dialogue process.
Talking to a private TV channel Maulana Samiul Haq said that losses were being incurred by both sides on a daily basis which was regrettable.
He said following his meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he had approached the Taliban the next day.  In response, the Taliban had agreed to hold stable, lasting and meaningful talks.
