Rawalpindi - A 14-year-old son of a cleric was sexually assaulted after being kidnapped at gunpoint by two men at Bank Colony, Dhamial, in the precinct of Police Station Saddar Bairooni, informed sources on Saturday.

Police have registered a case under section 377 of Pakistan Penal Court on complaint of Qari Saeed ur Rehman, the father of the victim, and began investigation.

To protest against the sexual abuse incident, the residents of the area marched towards Ranyal Police Post located on Chakri Road, sources added. They staged a protest demonstration outside the Police Picket and chanted slogans against Saddar Bairooni police for its failure in nabbing the accused.

According to sources, Qari Saeed ur Rehman, who is Khateeb in a mosque in Bank Colony, Hayyal, lodged complaint with police that his son HS was going to academy to attend tuition classes on 18/1/2018 at 6:30pm when two men on a motorbike, identified as Chaudhry Arbab and Raja Adil intercepted him and pointed a gun to his forehead. He added that the two men took his son to nearby fields where they had sodomized him. After committing the crime, the rapists managed to escape the scene. He appealed to the police to register a case against the accused and arrest them.

SP Saddar Circle Iftikhar ul Haq, when contacted, confirmed the incident and said that the police have registered a case against the two rapists under sections 377/367-A and began investigation. He informed that the police took the father of one of the accused into custody whereas raids were also carried out to arrest the accused.

A police team headed by SHO PS Saddar Bairooni Malik Rafaqat visited crime scene in the field and collected evidences.

On the other hand, hundreds of residents of Bank Colony, Hayyal, Mohra Faqeeran, Mohra Baryan and Kashmir Colony took out a protest rally from Bank Colony to Police Picket Ranyal. They chanted slogans against police and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
