Rawalpindi - The Additional and Sessions Judge Tariq Khurshid Khawaja on Saturday imposed fines and awarded death penalty to two men found guilty of killing four people in Jatli in 2013.

The two convicts were identified as Raja Usman and Raja Munir. Jatli police had registered a case and arrested Raja Usman along with his cousin Raja Munir for murdering his father Muhammad Faiz, brother Muhammad Nazir and two sisters over marriage dispute in Nabin Janjua village, within limits of Police Station Jatli.

According to details, ASJ Gujar Khan Tariq Khurshid Khawaja took up quartet murder case during which the prosecution told the court that the investigation found that two men were involved in killing of four persons in Jatli. The prosecution demanded a death penalty for the killers. The defense failed to provide any substantial evidence that could prove the two killers innocent.

Meanwhile, a total 31 road traffic crashes were reported in District Command and Control Room, Rescue 1122, Rawalpindi, during the last 24 hours. Among the 29 victims, 26 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of Rawalpindi. However, three victims, who sustained minor injuries, were provided first aid on the spot by Emergency Medical Teams Rescue 1122.

Out of total 29 victims, 26 were males and three were females, Rescue 1122 added.
