Fire destroys sugarcane-laden trailer

MIRPURKHAS - A sugarcane-laden tractor-trolley caught fire when it hit an 11,000KV high tension electricity line on Mirpurkhas-Khipro Road near Hingorno Town on Saturday.

According to a report, high tension cables had fallen on the main road and people reported this incident to concerned officials of Hesco’s Sindhri Sub Division but no notice was taken. In the meantime, a tractor-trolley loaded with sugar cane hit the power supply cables lying on the road and caught fire.

The tractor-trolley owned by Ikram Junejo was destroyed by the fire along with the sugarcane within no time.

The driver of the tractor trolley saved his live by jumping of the vehicle.

 ULTRASOUND FACILITY

Hundreds of poor patients have been deprived of free of cost facility of ultrasound at the Civil Hospital in Mirpurkhas for the last few weeks.

Now poor patients are being advised to approach private doctors for ultrasound. Sources said that hundreds of poor patients coming to Civil Hospital were being advised by doctors at different wards to get ultrasound done from private labs. There is no ultrasound specialist doctor at the Civil Hospital and poor patients are suffering.

Representative of the Sindh Human Rights Commission Noor Ahmed Narejo told this scribe that poor patients in need of ultrasound were being sent to private clinics. He said when he questioned a civil surgeon about unavailability of ultrasound facility at the Civil Hospital, he told him that ultrasound machine was out of order and he had sent it to Karachi for repair.

He said the civil surgeon told him that he had asked the higher authorities to appoint a specialist ultrasound doctor to the Civil Hospital.
