Islamabad - The Deputy Commissioner and City Police Officer on Saturday visited two oil fields to review security arrangements made by police for shielding Chinese engineers and labourers working there, a police spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, the DC Talat Mehmood Gondal and CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi paid visits to Dhoke Gujti oil field in Chontra area and Ahdi oil field within limits of police station Jatli and reviewed the security arrangements.

He added that the two officers directed the police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies to improve security arrangements inside and around the oil fields to guard the Chinese engineers and labourers working on the projects. He said that the CPO directed the chief security officers of the oil fields to install CCTV cameras to monitor suspicious movements.

The CPO also asked the police to set up pickets on the roads leading to the oil fields and adopt a comprehensive mechanism for searching the vehicles and people to avert any attack on the fields.

Similarly, the CPO asked the station house officer to enhance patrolling in Ahdi and Dhoke Gujri to maintain law and order situation, the spokesman said.
