SADIQABAD - A delegation of local traders under the leadership of Anjuman-e-Tajran president Khalid Saleem met DSP (circle) Mehr Nasir Ali Saqib and apprised him of rising robbery incidents in the city.

The delegation complained that the robbers rule the roost in the city and citizens feel themselves insecure whenever they come out of their houses.

The DSP assured the delegation of police steps for crime eradication, saying the police would spare no effort for the protection of life, honour and property of the common man. He informed the delegation that police patrolling has been enhanced across the city, adding that all vehicles are being scanned at entry and exit points of the city. "Special police teams have been formed for arrest of the robbers and they would be arrested soon," the DSP maintained. The police officer asked the traders to install CCTV cameras outside their shops so that the culprits involved in robbery and dacoity incidents could be arrested.

Anjuman-e-Tajran general secretary Ehsanul Haq, Anjuman Arhitiyan president Ch Khalil Ahmed, Auto Union president Mehmood Ahmed Ch and Sarafa Association president Rana Imran were also present on the occasion.



The newly-elected president of Tehsil Bar Association (TBA) stressed better healthcare facilities for lawyers and their families.

During a meeting with a lawyers' delegation, TBA president Jam Lal Bakhsh said that library would be established for bar members. Similarly, the TBA would also establish a welfare fund for the provision of the better healthcare to the families of lawyers. The fund would also provide financial assistance to the families in case of death of a bar member. He said that efforts would be made to ensure better relations between bar and bench.

On the occasion, TBA spokesman Abdur Rauf Solangi, vice president Tabassum Warraich and joint secretary Jam Shafqat presented a bouquet of flowers to the new bar president.
