KHAIRPUR - A police constable was killed in an encounter with criminals near Khairpur on Wednesday. On spy information that a gang of notorious criminals comprising Rahim Phulpoto is available in the jurisdiction of Economic Zone police station, a police party raided the area. Seeing police, the criminals opened fire on them. The police also retaliated the fire, resulting an encounter. As a result, young police constable Muhammad Siddique Narejo was injured. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Khairpur for treatment where he succumbed to his injures. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere among relatives and police staff of the area. His funeral prayer was offered at Police Headquarter Khairpur which was also attended by Wing Commander Rangers Lt Col Muhammad Azeem, SP Khairpur city Nosherwan Magsi and a large number of cops.
