ISLAMABAD -The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has banned all types of indoor dining in the city from today (Friday) instead of implementing the decision from January 24.
The decision has been taken in compliance with the decisions of National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). The NCOC had on Wednesday banned indoor gatherings, weddings and dining in districts and cities with Covid-19 positivity rate exceeding 10 per cent as part of new curbs meant to tackle the pandemic’s fifth wave being driven by the Omicron variant.
The decision was among various non-pharmaceutical interventions that will remain in effect from January 20 to 31. The ban on indoor dining, however, was to get into effect from January 24.
Islamabad District Magistrate on Thursday issued a notification to state that the ban on indoor dining would come into effect from today (Friday) instead of January 24. According to data released by the NCOC, a positivity rate of more than 10pc was recorded in seven cities over the past 24 hours.
