Tennis sensation Daniyal eyes more gold medals in 2022

LAHORE - Rising tennis star Daniyal Afzal Malik, who is just six years old, has said that he is very glad to end 2021 with 7 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals in U6 and U8 categories and he is eager to win more titles in 2022. 
Expressing his delight over winning such a good number of medals in the previous year, Daniyal Afzal Malik, who is a brilliant student of LGS Phase V, said: “By the grace of Almighty, I have achieved more than what I have planned to win in 2021. Now in my New Year resolution, I have planned to break previous year record and for this, I am training very hard under my able coach Muhammad Naseeb and I am hopeful that with dedication and passion, I will be able to achieve more feats this year.
“I am grateful to my parents for their all-out support and backing, which is helping me pursue my career and achieve my set goals. I am also thankful to my cousin Zohaib Afzal Malik and Taya Aamir Malik, who actually convinced me to start tennis at such a young age and also played a vital role in developing my interest in this beautiful game. I am now looking forward to win many more nationals in 2022,” he asserted. 
He also thanked PLTA Secretary General Rashid Malik for organizing a record number of tennis tournaments and hoped that this year too, the tennis players will be featuring a record number of tennis tournaments throughout the year, just because of sheer love, passion and dedication of Mr. Rashid Malik towards tennis. 
Daniyal added that the PTF, especially its president and management, also deserves due credit as they conducted a good number of international tournaments previous year, and this year, the local players will play and enjoy more tennis with foreign players as well, thanks to PTF President Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan.
