MIRPUR (APP) - Two more units of 110 MW each of Mangla Power House started generating electricity on Monday, official sources said. Two units of 220 MW of the Mangla Power House had already resumed production slightly reducing the gap /shortfall in supply and demand, the sources told reporters here Monday. The sources said the resources were being utilized to meet the deadline of July 25 for complete functioning of the power house after which the loadshedding will significantly come down in the country. It may be recalled that Mangla Power Station with an installed capacity of 110 MW was shut down on June 29 due to a technical fault. According to power generation experts, WAPDA was suffering a daily loss of Rs 300 million due to closure of 1100 MW hydel power house that generating inexpensive electricity. It claimed that the gap or shortfall in supply and demand has slightly decreased due to rain in various parts of the country resulting reduction in loadshedding.
