Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has again approached National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to raise power tariffs. According to details, the CPPA Thursday requested NEPRA for approving an increase of Rs. 1.13 per unit in electricity tariff. The request for tariff hike is intended for the month of June under fuel adjustment. It should be mentioned here that a total of 8,798 Gigawatt electricity was sold to distribution companies during June. According to NEPRA, electricity sold during the month of June was worth Rs. 55.95 billion. Meantime, 4.24 percent electricity was wasted as transmission losses.
