Our Staff reporter MIRPUR (AJK) - Pakistan Army will perform its due responsibilities for dispensation of basic amenities of life including quality education and modern healthcare to the population dwelling along the line of control in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. This was disclosed by Brigade Commander of 4-AK Brigade of Pakistan Army Brigadier Muhammad Asif while speaking to the elders and visitors of a free medical camp, jointly arranged by the Army-run MDS Service Bhimbher and Bandala Health Committee at Government Model Health Unit at Bandala village, close to the line of control in Bhimbher District, said an official handout issued here by PID AJK on Wednesday. Health Committee Bandala Chairman Raja Azher Iqbal Khan on the occasion apprised the chief guest and other participants of the measures being initiated by the committee to provide required medical facilities to the local ailing population. Azher expressed gratitude to the local medical core of Pakistan Army for assisting the local civil administration and the NGOs engaged in providing basic health and educational facilities to the population. The HCB Chief also thanked the Army officials for providing free medical and food facilities to the deserving people visiting the medical camp. Besides the local population including elders of the area, the ceremony was attended among others by local senior civil and military officials including Colonel Jehanzeb of local unit, In-charge MDS Services Bhimbher Col Dr Nazir Ahmed and Col Dr Muhammad Shoaib. Brigadier Asif continued that Pakistan Army is committed to performing its due role to assist the local civil authorities and the social welfare organizations like Health Committee Bandala to reduce the problems vis--vis health, education and civic sectors, confronted by the population living along the line of control in the AJK. He added that joint holding of the free medical camp by the MDS Bhimbher and Health Committee Bandala to provide free medical aid to the local ailing population was the ample proof to the fact. Earlier, Brig Asif went round various sections of the free medical camp and inquired about the welfare of the patients visiting the camp. The chief guest distributed gifts comprising food and stationary items among the patients and their children visiting the medical camp.
