LAHORE Police have failed to arrest two accused, who killed their alleged mentally retarded sisters in separate incidents in Civil Lines and Shahdara police precincts. Police concerned claimed to have raided their houses but the accused fled away. According to details, 35-year-old Nausheen, a resident of Naqi Market, Civil Lines, was gunned down by her brother Rizwan. Police investigators believed Rizwan had snubbed her over her off and on absence from the home but she continued. Resultantly he killed her. The body of the girl was handed over to the bereaved family after completing necessary medico-legal formalities on Tuesday. According to police, the girl was mentally retarded but when asked about the arrest of the accused none of the police official gave satisfactory reply. They said that the accused was hiding somewhere but would be arrested soon. In another incident, one Khurshid gunned down his sister Sajida Bibi, mother of eight, near Baradari, Shahdara, a few days back. Police said the deceased woman had already killed her husband Iliyas in Sheikhupura over a personal grudge and had been living with her maternal home. She often remained out of her home and despite several warnings by her brother she turned dead ears and ultimately her brother killed her, police investigators said. They, however, claimed to arrest the accused, who was still at large. Further investigations are underway.
