ISLAMABAD (NNI) - PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said the economic crisis can be overcome by political reconciliation. Talking to Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) President Dr Murtaza Mughal here Wednesday, he said the economy could grow if all the political forces found common ground to steer the country out of the mess. The PML-Q chief said Pakistan had enough resources and working capital to become a major economic power but some politicians were engaged in gaining political mileage. Shujaat said many countries with resources less than Pakistan had proved themselves. He stressed the need for forging unity; saying that no country with divisions had ever advanced thus mutual differences should be shunned. He said numerous opportunities were lost due to current situation, which had brought development to a standstill. He said his family had always sacrificed for the sake of national interest and could go to any extent for the motherland. Mughal said major political problems remain unresolved, affecting national development. He said apart from business community, political parties should also play their role for bringing stability. He said the parties, which initiated dialogue to bridge the gap between different political parties would earn public respect. Political conflicts caused loss to national economy and growth, he said, adding that the masses wanted an end to such problems.
