KANGANPUR - Three people were killed and eight others sustained gunshot wounds in a gunfight erupted between two groups over the distribution of irrigation water and land dispute here in Village Chah Haveliwala, a suburban area of Kanganpur, in the remit of Kanganpur Police Tuesday night. As per detail, a feud has been going on between Noor Ahmed Dogar Group and Nasrullah Dogar Group, residents of Chah Haveliwala, over land and distribution of irrigation water since long. On Tuesday, a difference arose between the warring groups over a distributary of irrigation canal. Meanwhile, a gunfight triggered off between both the parties. Both the sides started firing at each other with automatic arms. The firing was so intense that spread panic among the entire area. During crossfire, 25-year-old Khalid of Noor Ahmed Group, Nasrullah and Abdur Razaaq, brother-in-law of Nasrullah were killed. While eight people including Noor Ahmed Dogar, Bashir and Ashraf of Nasrullah Group sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to RHC Kanganpur from where their referred to Lahore due their critical condition. Meanwhile, the police led by Chunian Circle DSP Sh Javed Iqbal reached the spot. The DSP told the newsmen that both the parties had been locked in a feud since long. He said that the dead bodies were being sent to Chunian THQ Hospital for autopsy. He said that police teams had been formed to arrest the accused.
