Healthcare top priority

HAFIZABAD
Punjab Health Secretary Hassan Iqbal has directed the physicians and surgeons of DHQ Hospital and THQ Hospital Pindi Bhattian to be courteous and polite towards the patients and provide all sorts of facilities for their better treatment.
He warned that zero tolerance would be shown to the negligent and work shirker staff. During his visit to DHQ, THQ and Trauma Centre Hafizabad (which has been constructed at a cost of Rs50 million about six months back), he said that the provincial government had accorded top priority to provision of healthcare to the masses and it was bounden duty of doctors and paramedical staff to facilitate the patients in outdoor and indoor wards. He said that government had already released fund of Rs20 million for the purchase of modern equipment and machinery for the Trauma Centre and directed the DCO and EDO Health to make all-out efforts to make the Trauma Centre operational without further delay.
DCO Safeena Siddique and EDO Health Dr Farooq Azam Tarar informed the Secretary that patients at all hospitals were being provided all possible facilities. However, they stressed upon the Secretary to fill-in the vacant post of doctors for further improving health service in the hospitals.
PROFITEERS WARNED: While visiting Ramazan Bazaar, DCO Safeena Siddique warned that those dealers found selling substandard commodities or overcharging the consumers would not be tolerated and their stalls would be cancelled and allotted to other vendors. She appealed to the vendors to sell edibles to the consumers at cheaper rates to facilitate their brothers and sisters and to get the blessings of Almighty Allah during this holy month.
