PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has expressed satisfaction on the peaceful solemnising of martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) throughout the province including Peshawar and southern district bordering Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

He paid rich tributes not only to the Home department, police and local administrations for strict security arrangements but to the people of entire province for demonstrating exemplary spirit of religious harmony and cohesion on this important day.

He assured that his PTI-led coalition govt will continue its endeavors for foolproof security measures and hence will never compromise on this sensitive issue in future too.

He, however, asked the citizens to keep vigilance on their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to concerned higher authorities while serious action will be taken on it with full confidentiality of the reporting citizen. He also eulogized positive role of media in this regard and hoped that such objective role will be continued with more vigor.

In a message Pervez Khattak said that there is no concept of religious hatred or terror in Islam right from Holy times of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to that of four Khalifas (RA) whereas we always found lessons of unity, love and spirit of sacrifice for humanity but enemies later succeeded in sowing the seeds of enmity among various schools of thought of Muslims. He said we as nation have to awaken and understand the conspiracies of our enemies after undergoing worst challenges and crises of the history.

He also lauded the speeches of Ulema both from Sunni and Shia sects for religious fraternity and brotherhood on Youme-i-Ali Day. He hoped that with this active support of Ulema and public opinion leaders we will emerge successful in eliminating the curses of sectarian hatred, extremism and terrorism all over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for good.

He reiterated pledge of his govt that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring security of people especially safeguarding the lives, properties and honour of our citizens in wake of Waziristan operation and no lethargy will be shown in this regard at any cost.
