PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said that no effort will be spared for the provision of all possible facilities to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency.
While taking the notice of inadequate disbursement of cash amounts to the IDPs of NWA, the governor said that any laxity or negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
He said that all resources have been made available for the assistance of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan and directed the relevant authorities of FATA Secretariat that provision of cash amount to the IDPs must be ensured within next five days and desired that a detail report should be submitted to him on daily basis.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting regarding the provision of disbursement of cash amounts among the IDPs of NWA on Sunday. He directed all the administrative authorities to take effective measures to make sure the provision of all possible facilities to the IDPs of North Waziristan Agency on priority.
A detailed briefing was also given to the governor from Director General FDMA Abid Majeed regarding the provision of cash disbursement to the IDPs. Besides Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amjad Ali Khan, Principal Secretary to Governor Dr Muhammad Fakhre Alam and others also attended the meeting.
The governor directed the authorities concerned to take austerity measures for the provision of all possible facilities, including disbursement of cash amounts to the IDPs without delay.
He showed dismay over the inadequate disbursement of cash amounts to the IDPs and said the federal government has already released 1.2 billion rupees so far on the directive of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the smooth and speedy disbursement of cash amounts. He categorically said that no negligence would be tolerated in disbursement of cash amounts among the IDPs.
He intended for to establish cash disbursement points in all affected districts including Bannu for smooth and adequate payments of cash amounts to the deserving IDPs.
While paying tributes to the tribesmen particularly the IDPs of North Waziristan who are sacrificing for the sake of peace in the country, the governor said tribal people have already played vital role to make the country’s defence impregnable and their services will also be remembered by the people.
He assured that the government would extend all possible facilities to the displaced persons. He directed the administration to take measures on emergent basis for early provision of ration, medicines and other essential items, including the smooth disbursement of cash amounts to the IDPs and said that no compromise would be accepted in this regard.
