Police officer among three killed, lady SSP injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI- At least three persons including a police officer were killed in latest spate of violence in Karachi as law enforcement agencies combat against criminals in the city.
According to police sources, unknown armed men opened firing at a person, identified as Qutbuddin, in Katti Pahari area of Orangi Town. Another person was shot dead near Islam Chowk in same area of the troubled metropolis.
Earlier, Sub Inspector Rafique Baloch, was shot dead near Lyari Shah Bhattai Hall whereas the assailant remained unknown.
According to the Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) City, the deceased police officer was deployed at Superintendent Police (SP) Saddar’s Office and was shot while going back to his home in Lyari after the duty hours.
In another firing incident in the jurisdiction of Gulistan e Johar police station, armed motorcyclists opened firing on a woman SSP Traffic, Jalees Fatima and fled away. Ms. Fatima survived the attack but was severely injured.
The vehicle bore three bullet holes. An FIR was registered by SSP Traffic at the Gulistan e Johar police station.
On the other hand, Jamshed Alias Billa, who was wanted in more than 15 criminal cases, was arrested by the police from Site whereas two suspects were taken into custody and recovered weapons and drugs in Jamshed Quarter.
