KARACHI - As per as nine persons were killed on Saturday in separate incidents and accidents occurred in different areas of the metropolis According to detail, a young man, the resident of Sector L-I, Baldia Town, was shot dead on Saturday evening in the limits of Saeedabad Police Station. As per detail, a 22-year-old Hafiz Sheraz, son of Ashraf succumbed the injuries on the way to Murshid Hospital. The victim was said to be the younger brother of Mohammad Ramzan, president of the Arain Community and Welfare Trust. DSP Ghulam Fareed said that the deceased was killed when he offered resistance during robbery bid in his house. No case was registered till the report was filed. In another incident, Sharafi Goth police claimed to have killed an alleged dacoit during an encounter in Murtaza Chowrangi. SHO Irfan Haider said that the incident took place when a mobile van of Sharafi Goth police during snap checking intercepted the suspects on pillion riding a bike. The motorcyclists opened fire on the police personnel; the police also hit the violators in retaliation. As a result, the robber Rashid, son of Ishrat was gunned down. A motorcycle and a pistol were also recovered from their possession. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man was killed near Ahsanabad within the limits of Gulshan-e- Maymar Police Station. The victim was identified as Niaz Ali, hailed from Nawab Shah and resided here in a city in Gadap Town. Police officials, with the reference to an eyewitness said that the deceased was a dacoit, who was targeted by the firing of his companions during a mobile phone snatching bid. In another incident, a hanged body of a youth was found from a house located in Block-7 within the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station. His body was shifted to Edhi morgue for identification. Moreover, a five-day old decomposed body of an aged man was recovered from bushes at Haji Abdul Karim Village within the limits of Manghopir Police Station. The body was shifted to Edhi morgue for identification. Separately, a tortured-mark body of an unknown man was found from the bushes near Matric Board Office within the limits of North Nazimabad Police Station. Police officials said that the deceased might have been hanged by unidentified men to death. Furthermore, a body of 45-year old man was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) from his house located in Umer Goth within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi Police Station. Police officials said that the deceased had a dispute with his cousin Haroon over plot. He is stated to have died of heart attack while fighting with his rival. In another accident, a man was killed while his wife and son were injured in a road mishap within the limits of Nazimabad Police Station. The deceased and the injured were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where they were identified as Mohammad Rafiq, 40 while his wife Sajida, 32 and his three-year old son Ahmed. Police officials said that the accident took place when the victims were their way to home located in Ranchore Line after attending a wedding ceremony. Police arrested a driver Sajjad and registered an FIR No 209/09. In another incident, a watchman of the private eye hospital was crushed to death in a road accident. The incident occurred when he was on the duty in the hospital. The victim was identified as Misri Khan, 60. His body was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi (CHK). Moreover, a man was drowned to death in sea in Rehri Goth within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi Police Station. The deceased Afaq, 60, was a resident of Landhi area. He had also rendered his services in the Pakistan Steels Mill.
