2 killed, 7 injured in separate incidents

LAHORE - Two people including a 15-year-old boy were killed and seven others sustained severe injuries in separate traffic accidents in the city on Sunday. The victim was identified as Ameer Hussain, the son of Hussain, resident of China Scheme, Gujjarpura. According to an Edhi official, a 15-year-old boy was on his way on motorcycle. Edhi official further said that as the boy reached near Mehmood Boti in Baghbanpura police limits, a speeding truck hit him from behind as a result the victim sustained severe head injury and died on the spot. Police after being informed reached the spot and handed over the dead body to the victims family after medico-legal formalities. The truck, however, was impounded and a case was also registered against the unknown accused driver with no arrest till filing of this report. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was crushed to death near Manga Mandi bypass in a road accident. The victim was identified as Qasim. An Edhi ambulance shifted the deceased to his home. However, Manga Mandi police showed complete unawareness when this scribe contacted the police concerned. Separately, seven people sustained injuries when a speeding vehicle hit a passenger van near Mohalanwal on Multan Road. The victims were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
