LAHORE (PR) - Begum Yasmin Misbah-ur-Rehman MNA, Advisor to Prime Minister has said the PPP leadership is making adequate efforts for converting Pakistan into a prosperous country. The elimination of poverty and protection of basic rights of the people is top on the government agenda and many steps had already taken in this regard, she added. Addressing the party workers during a meeting held in connection with the birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto here, she said the government had evolved a strategy for stamping out backwardness from politically neglected areas by ensuring basic facilities to the masses living in the remote areas of the country. She said the PPP was the only representatives of poor and suppressed people and would continue its efforts for their rights throughout the country because the poor, farmers, labourers and students were an asset to the party. Yasmin called upon party workers to forge unity among their ranks for the completion of the mission of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and disseminate the message of the PPP house to house and village to village. She said it was Benazir Bhutto who struggled for the restoration of democracy and for rights of the people and consequently embraced Shahadat for the cause of democracy. Her services for the restoration of democracy will always be remembered she added.
