Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has told that provincial departments have completed pre-flood arrangements for monsoon season. According to handout issued here on Monday, he told that wireless sets have been installed at all the flood warning centers and staff has been deputed at the centers. However, he directed the local bodies department for the arrangements of chlorination with the water supply and all the TMAs should be directed in this regard. He expressed these views while presiding over a provincial coordination committee meeting to review pre-flood arrangements for flood season 2010 at Assembly Chambers. The meeting was attended by SMBR, Secretaries of Irrigation, C&W;, Local Government, Health, Food, and Information besides high ranking officials of Police, Army, WASA, Relief, LDA, Railway and DCO Lahore. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa directed the C&W;, Railways and Food departments officials to keep up alternate arrangements in emergency situation. He also directed the WASA and housing department officials for the early completion of de-silting of sewerage and flood nullahs as well as continuous functioning of pumping and disposal system. The meeting was informed that normal rains have been predicted in the current monsoon season, it concluded.
