LAHORE - At least three people died under mysterious circumstances in various police precincts in the provincial metropolis on Sunday, police said. As per details, a 35-year-old man was found dead in front of a local hotel located at McLeod Road in Nulakha police limits. Police investigators said the deceased identified as Nasir, resident of Jhang, worked as labourer in the City from last few months. On the day of incident, he was fond unconscious in front of the aforesaid hotel. The locals, however, rushed the injured to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. On duty police officer said it seemed the deceased was a drug addict and the chief cause of his death might be excessive usage of drugs. He however maintained that nothing could be established before the posthumous report. Later, police shifted the body to the City morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, a floating body of an 18-year-old youth was witnessed from City canal in Mughalpura area on Sunday. Police concerned said it seemed that the youth was drowned in the canal while swimming. The locals however approached the police concerned and informed about the body. Police after recovering the body made numerous announcements in nearby mosques but none of the citizens claimed to own the body. Later, an Edhi ambulance shifted the body to the City morgue for autopsy. In another incident, a 25-year unidentified motorcyclist youth slipped and fell into the drainage in Manga Mandi police precincts. Some locals however dived into the drainage but to no avail. Police after being informed reached the spot and removed the body, yet to be identified, to the City mortuary.
