LAHORE A 32-year-old man was found severely tortured to death with broken neck from Manawan police area on Monday, just a day after he left his Mughalpura residence to see some 'friend, police sources said. Investigators said that they rushed to the spot after some passersby contacted the police emergency service (Rescue-15) by phone and informed that a man was lying dead inside an empty plot near Bagh Wali Puli in Manawan police precinct. There were visible torture marks on the body with his neck totally broken, investigators said, adding, the cellular phone and shoes of the deceased were lying near to his dead body. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy. The man was later identified as Aamir Mahmood, father of a baby girl and the resident of Mughalpura. The police also recovered a copy of the national identity card from his pocket that helped investigators establish his identification. The police contacted the family, which identified the youth. The deceased family told the police that he left the house on early Sunday and told them that he was going somewhere for an important assignment. The deceased was a factory worker and he used to work in the night shift. On early Sunday, his mother asked him to go and bring back his wife and daughter from his in-laws residence. But he told his mother that he just received a phone call of his friend and he is going to meet his friend first, Mahmood Ali, father of the deceased told this reporter at the City morgue. The police investigators said that they recovered the cellular phone of the deceased from the crime scene and are checking the records of the phone calls that would help reach close to the killers. Apparently, it seemed that the killers severely tortured the man, broke his neck and fled away after throwing his body inside the empty plot, police sources maintained. The police have also registered the case against unidentified killers on the complaint of Mahmood Ali, father of the deceased and are investigating with no arrest made so far. Further investigations were underway. Meanwhile, two people including a 4-year-old girl were killed in as many road accidents here in different parts of the City on Monday, police and rescue workers said. Mahwish, four-year-old daughter of Muhammad Munir, was playing near her house Shafiqabad area when a rashly driven car hit her. The girl was rushed to a local hospital with severe injuries, where doctors pronounced her dead. The driver along with the car fled away from the crime scene. The police are investigating. In another incident, Zakir Ullah, 24, the resident of Bajaur Agency was crossing the road Shahdra Town police area when a recklessly driven motorcycle hit him from the rare side. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died later. The motorcyclists managed to escape from the scene. Further investigations are underway.
