LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has issued instructions for revivifying the monitoring system of the Punjab Highway Patrolling and removing its shortcomings. He also ordered formation of a committee for identifying and submitting recommendations within a few days for removing the flaws in the monitoring system for its improvement. He was addressing a meeting during his visit to the Monitoring Directorate of the Punjab Highway Patrolling here on Monday. Home Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Finance and Additional Inspector General Punjab Highway Patrolling were also present. Director General Monitoring Directorate Punjab Highway Patrolling Khalid Bashir gave a detailed briefing regarding the performance of the department. He directed that it should be ensured that the system evolved for monitoring of the Punjab Highway Patrolling should deliver the desired results and performance of the department should be reviewed in detail for this purpose. Earlier, Khalid Bashir informed that the directorate had been set up for monitoring the efficiency of the officials of Highway Patrolling, and tracking system had also been installed in all highway patrolling vehicles.
