MANDI BAHAUDDIN - Farmers are facing severe artificial scarcity of urea fertilizers in the district nowadays. Prominent farmers belong to area including Shabbir Ahmed said that urea fertilizers dealers were receiving Rs1500 per 50-kg bag against the fixed price of Rs1250 per bag. The situation is arising out of inordinate increase in the prices of urea fertilisers by the manufacturers and black-marketing by the dealers. Some fertilizer dealers are receiving higher prices for urea fertilizers, he added. He alleged that the local administration was doing nothing in the regard. The farmers urged the government to establish a monitoring team for the purpose.
