LAHORE PPP Punjab president Imtiaz Safdar Warriach has criticised the Punjab chief ministers statement in which he said that a highly unjust attitude was being meted out to the province in terms of supply of electricity, gas and petrol. He said Punjab was not the personal property of Shahbaz Sharif. Without naming Shahbaz Sharif, he said, 'Some people wanted to promote provincial disharmony in the country. Addressing the party workers at Charing Cross here on Monday in connection with Benazir Bhuttos 58th birth anniversary, he said that under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, they would continue their struggle for strengthening of democracy in Pakistan. Shaheed Zulfqar Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari had never talked about provincialism, he added. Punjab Assembly Opposition leader Raja Riaz Ahmad, PPP MPAs Sajida Mir, Uzma Bokhari, Samiullah Khan, Asghar Gujjar and many others were present on the occasion. Warraich vowed that the sacrifices rendered by the Bhutto family would never go unrewarded. He said that there was no example in the world that the workers of a political party lit blood-filled lamps in the memory of their leader. The honour only goes to us and this proved that the PPP workers were ready to give sacrifice to complete the mission of Shaheed Bibi. Raja Riaz said that democracy in the country was only due to the sacrifice of Benazir Bhutto. He said that Mohtarma had declared war against the terror in the country and 'we will eradicate the extremism in the country. Earlier, Imtiaz Safdar addressed a cake-cutting ceremony in connection with the 58th birth anniversary of Benazir at Hussain Chowk, Gulberg. The Peoples Youth Organisation organised the event. Warraich said the Punjab was not the personal property of Shahbaz Sharif. He vowed that they would make the province as the PPP fort.
