SHO, ASI accused of fraud

NANKANA SAHIB - A complaint has been filed against an station head officer and an assistant sub-inspector for allegedly embezzling 5 tola gold ornaments seized during a raid. Muhammad Javed, resident of village Daryia, alleged in the complaint submitted to the district police officer that the city police under the supervision of ASI Rai Saadi Ahmed had conducted a raid on his house to arrest his brother Amar Sohail. During the raid, he said, they impounded a motor cycle and 5 tola gold ornaments and also issued two receipts in this regard. We got back our motor cycle after giving both the receipts but the ASI kept gold receipt with him. Later, the ASI went for any departmental task and said that gold ornaments and its receipt are now in possession of SHO Ayyoub Gujjar. We requested several time the SHO to give our gold ornaments but no avail during the last four months, he said. He further said that now the SHO had been transferred to Shah Kot and there was no one responsible to return his gold. LICENSE CENTRE: A Learning Driving License centre has been established at Morkhunda, Shah Kot and Sangla Hill to solve the traffic problem. Nankana Traffic Police In-charge Muhammed Saddiq said told journalists that the masses were facing problems regarding licenses as they had to come to Nankana to deposit fines and for other documentations. Fake driving licenses were issued during the year 2009 & 2010 but now after computerisation the chances of the fake licenses have been minimised, he said. Separately, three motorcyclists snatched the hand bag of a woman. Shazia, resident of Chack 562, was sitting with her family on a riksha near Barri Chowk when around 2:00 pm three the criminals snatched her hand bag.
