Kasur - Two youth drowned in Mustafabad Canal while taking bath to beat the heat here on Saturday.
The incident took place in the limits of Mustafabad Police Station.
Ehsan, 25, and Mazhar, 18, of village Bagrian went to Mustafabad Canal on Saturday to beat the scorching heat along with their friends. Ehsan and Mazhar dived into deep water and could not appear on surface. Rescue 1122 divers were trying to fish out the bodies.
It is pertinent to mention that district government has already imposed a ban on taking a bath in canal but due to poor implementation half a dozen youth have lost their lives during the last few weeks.
MAN DIE ON ROAD: A man died and two sustained injuries when a motorcycle hit a donkey cart near Allahabad on Deepalpur Road on Saturday. As per details, motorcyclist Muhammad Anwar was on his way to Khudian when on Deepalpur Road a donkey cart suddenly appeared on the road from opposite side near Allahabad and hit his motorbike. As a result, Anwar died on the spot while Zubaida Bibi and Sharjeel riding the donkey cart sustained injuries and were rushed to RHC Allahabad. Police were investigating the matter.
RANGERS OFFICIAL INJURED FOILING ROBBERY BID: A Rangers official was injured while foiling a robbery bid when outlaws tried to loot them near village Varan in the limits of Sadar Police Station here on Saturday.
Sabir with his brother Muhammad Arif, a Rangers official, was on his way to Kasur from village Haveli Nathowali on his motorcycle, when near Varan, two unidentified robbers intercepted them and tried to snatch their cellphones, cash and motorcycle. As they tried to deprive them of their belongings, Arif put up resistance. One of the robbers opened fire leaving Arif injured. Arif was hospitalised.
