LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former principal secretary to prime minister Fawad Hassan Fawad on Friday (tomorrow) in the Ashiana Housing Scheme scam.

Mr. Fawad was also summoned by NAB in the past several times but he failed to comply with the orders of the Bureau.

NAB sources said that appearance of Fawad was very important.

A NAB official said that bureaucrat was served seven summons to appear before the anti-graft watchdog, however, he didn’t appear even once.

“Inquiry has revealed that you are in possession of information and evidence regarding cancellation of contract in respect of the Ashiana Iqbal project launched by PLDC,” said a notice issued by NAB to Fawad earlier. The NAB had also summoned Fawad on June 1 following his failure to turn up and reply to its queries in connection with the probe but to no avail.–STAFF REPORTER

Pertinent to mention here that NAB had launched an inquiry into the alleged financial irregularities in the award of Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme contract to a bidder in violation of the relevant laws.
