PPP ex-MNA Talat joins PTI

ISLAMABAD - In a political blow to the Pakistan Peoples’ Party, one of its former MNA from Sindh Dr Talat Mahesar on Wednesday called on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman at Bani Gala and announced to join the party.

Mahesar had contested for NA-233 (Dadu-III) as an independent candidate in general election 2002 but was unsuccessful against Liaquat Ali Jatoi. However, in the 2008 general elections he was elected to the National Assembly from NA-233 (Dadu-II) as a PPP candidate by defeating Ihsan Ali Jatoi, a candidate of PML-Q.

According to PTI officials, two other political personalities from Sindh - Saqib Mahesar and Mahrab Rahooja - have also announced to join the Imran-led party. Similarly, Aftab Qureshi of MQM also announced to join the party. He also met with PTI Chairman Imran Khan and expressed confidence in the party leadership. Imran Khan welcomed all the personalities into party’s fold, according to the PTI media cell.
