ISLAMABAD (APP) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Saturday directed Provincial Police Officer (IGP) Sindh to protect a lady facing threats from Jirga members in Nawab Shah on accusation of Karokari. He issued direction on an application moved by Mst Rizwana, a resident of Nawab Shah. She has stated that she contracted her marriage on her will but was accused of Karokari by a local Jirga and facing life threats. CJ in his direction says, PPO Sindh be directed to provide protection to applicant and her husband, initiate proceedings to obtain security bonds in accordance with law from persons against whom the applicant apprehends danger for breaching peace. PPO Sindh was directed to submit report within fifteen days. Similarly, CJP also directed PPO Punjab to recover abducted girl who has been missing since November 11, 2009 from Attock and submit report within two-week. He issued direction after taking suo motu notice of an application of Peer Dost Khan, a resident of Attock, about recovery of his fifteen-year old daughter.
