ISLAMABAD (APP) - The government has sent 1890 exhibitors abroad to participate in 136 international trade fairs and exhibitions across the world since March 2008 till date. One of the most important marketing tools is participation in international trade fairs and exhibitions and participation provided an excellent opportunity to the exporters to showcase their products to the buyer, hold meetings and negotiate business deals. An official at Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Saturday said participation of delegates in trade fairs has played a key role in enhancing the exports of the country in the current financial year. On a question whether TDAP provides any subsidy to the exhibitors, representing various products sector in connection with their participation in international trade fairs and exhibitions, the official said textile products 50pc, other core products 60pc, development products 70pc while for non-traditional markets, the subsidy level is 70pc. The official said to encourage women entrepreneurs to participate in these events, TDAP provides further subsidy of 50pc in additional to the above. The Authority allocates some specialized events to the trade bodies and 50pc subsidy is provided to the trade bodies on space rent and construction of stalls. During the period mentioned, the delegates sent to Algeria, Australia, Austria, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungry, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan. Syria, Tanzania, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
