Special allowance given to Chitral police

PESHAWAR (APP) The government of NWFP has extended the grant of Special Risk Allowance to the police personnel of Chitral district. This was stated by Member of National Assembly from Chitral, Shehzada Mohiyuddin while addressing a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Saturday. He said that the package was earlier extended to five districts of militancy-affected Malakand Division of the province. But, unfortunately, district Chitral was ignored in the package. The MNA was thankful to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, ANP chief; Asfandyar Wali Khan and Chief Minister NWFP, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti for including of police personnel of district Chitral in the package. Under the Special Risk Allowance, package the Superintendent of Police (SP) will receive Rs 6,000 per month, DSP Rs 5,500 Inspector Rs 5000. Sub-Inspector Rs 4,500, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rs 4,000, Head Constable Rs 3,500 and constable Rs 3,000 more along with their monthly salaries. Shehzada Mohiyuddin said that Chitral district was peaceful area and even during worst spill of wave of terrorism, militancy and suicide bomb explosions, the area remained completely peaceful. No terrorist incident has been occurred in the district enabling the government to divert attention to terrorism affected areas, added Shehzada Mohiyuddin. He said that on his demand PM Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani had written off the micro-finance loans in district Chitral. The member of the National Assembly was jubilant over the temporary allowing of passage through the under construction Lowari Tunnel for people of Chitral. He said that the project had helped in all weather connection of the Chitral with rest of the country. He said that though construction work on main hole of the tunnel was still in progress and would be completed in two and three years. However, it was opened for the passage of the people two-hour every day. He said that the project had brought revolution in the life of Chitralis and expressed gratitude to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, former president Pervez Musharraf, present government, Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and Federal Minister for Communication, Dr. Arbab Mohammad Alamgir Khalil for taking interest in providing passage to the people of Chitral through the tunnel. Shehzada Mohiyuddin was further thankful to Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti for announcement of the construction of a Hydel Power Station in Goal, Chitral, saying the completion of the 106 mega watt power project would not only supply electricity to the people of Chitral, but also whole Malakand Division.
