LAHORE A four-day Daachi festival organised by Daachi foundation in connection with Alhamra Arts Council concluded here on Sunday. The festival left a message to create an atmosphere of harmony, tolerance, unity among the nation with the help of establishing a peaceful society and promotion of traditional art and crafts. A painting and sculpture exhibition was held at Alhamra Art Gallery. The festival not only entertained the masses but also provided an opportunity to know about the traditional arts and crafts and to bring them closed the real culture of this land. A large number of Lahorites along with their families visited the festival with full zeal. On the occasion, a good number of shops were set to display their different types of crafts including hand made carpets, traditional and beautiful utensils, soil made toys, different decorated suits. The whole sight of the festival was portraying good picture of the tremendous culture of the country while the participation of the people including children filled more colour and charm in its beauty. According to the organised a good number of foreigners visited the festival and shared their views regarding providing a delight full event for the people. The Daachi Foundation representative and the organiser of the event Shahid Khan while talking to The Nation said 'The objective of establishing this exhibition was revival and promotion of our traditional crafts and culture, adding that 'we provided income opportunities to craftsmen and entrepreneurs who had been working for the promotion of this culture. Famous film star Reema Khan also visited the festival and expressed her pleasure over the hardworking of the foundation and appreciated their disciplined and well-managed effort to entertain the masses. She said 'we should organise events like this as the people are being deprived from entertainment and rejoicing. 'Pakistan is facing hard time and a good image would be portrayed through such events, she added. Many artists and art lovers had gathered at the place and participated by representing their fun and art in the event.
