LAHORE (APP) - A week long International Folk Puppet Festival to mark 'World Puppet Day will begin here from March 21 to 27. Director Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop Faizan Peerzada, announced the details of the festival while addressing a press conference here on Saturday. Usman Peerzada and Saadan Peerzada were also present on the occasion. The festival will be inaugurated on Monday (March 21), and 1500 children of different schools of the city will participate in the inauguration ceremony. He said that the festival will be participated by ten foreign puppeteers from India, Norway and Sri Lanka as well as local puppeteers to make it a truly international event. The participating international puppeteers have carved a name for themselves in the world of puppetry by training, entertaining and bringing an innovation in the art of puppet making, he added. He said the festival include puppet performances, puppets display, performances by International puppeteers, exhibition of folk puppets at the museum of puppetry which is located inside the Cultural Center, food stalls and other actvities. To a question, he said our security gaurds with the help of police jawans will provide foolproof security to the visitors.
