NOWSHERA - Unknown miscreants in a bid to disrupt rail traffic damaged 30-feet Railway track with remote control bomb blast near Wattar area of Nowshera in the wee hours of Sunday. The source said that unidentified miscreants had planted a remote control device near a Railway bridge at Wattar area of district Nowshehra at about 3am which exploded with big bang causing severe fear among the residents of the locality. The blast resulted in damaging 30-feet long Railway track, however, the bridge remained safe during the attack. The intensity of the blast was so high that it smashed the windowpanes of the nearby houses and its sounds were echoed in Mesri Banda, Akora Khattak and Nowshera Cantt area. Soon after the blast, police and Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. Police also launched search drive and registered FIR against unknown persons. According to Bomb disposal Squad, about three to four kilogram explosives were used in remote control blast.
