Achievements of AIOU highlighted

SIALKOT - Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Vice Chancellor Muhammad Anwar Sangi has said that the ratio of getting education through AIOU is rising to a great extant in Balochistan rural area, as the AIOU enrolment has also increased in the province.
He said this while talking to the newsmen at AIOU Regional Office here on Wednesday.
He said that the AIOU had also doubled the number of its examination centers to 800 from existing 400 across the country, besides, increasing the number of AIOU to 40 from exiting 30, as the AIOU would also open its offices in Mandi Bahaud Din and Lahore.
AIOU was bringing betterment in the quality of its distance education being provided to the people, he claimed. Later, addressing Sialkot business community, the AIOU VC said that the AIOU soon start a pilot technical educational programme from matric level in the city to provide a skilled and educated work force to the industries.
He narrated that Rs100 million would be spent on the pilot project during the next five years in active collaboration with the opulent Sialkot business community with a sole aim to inject “fresh blood” into the industries.
