Bullets claim 10 more lives

KARACHI – Ten persons, including two MQM workers, were gunned down in separate incidents of violence here on Wednesday.
According to the details, an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was gunned down in Ramswami area within the jurisdiction of Garden police station.
Police said that victim Faisal, 29, was present at his motorcycle workshop where unidentified armed riders opened fire, killing him on the spot. Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital Karachi. Police said that the motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, another MQM worker was gunned down in Gulbahar area within Rizvia police precincts.
Police said that victim Farasat Mirza, 35, was going somewhere when unidentified pillion riders shot him twice in chest and managed to flee. Police shifted him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where he succumbed to injuries. Police believes target killing as motive behind the killing.
Separately, a man was gunned down in Lasbella Chowk within the precincts of Rizvia police station.
Police said that victim Imran Haider Naqvi, 25, a resident of North Nazimabad, was on his way home from the work place when unidentified armed riders intercepted his motorbike and shot him multiple times, killing him on the spot.
Police shifted the body to ASH for autopsy and later handed over to family. Police said that deceased had no affiliation with any political party while he was killed over sectarian ground.
Elsewhere, a police informer was shot dead near Miran Naka Bridge in Chakiwara police precincts.
Police said that victim Noor Mohammad, 45, resident of Baldia Town was going somewhere when unidentified armed riders shot him twice. Resultantly, he died on the spot.
Police shifted the body at CHK for autopsy and later handed over to heirs. Police said that deceased was a police informer which resulted in his killing.
Meanwhile, an Australia returned man was gunned down in Block-7, Clifton, within the jurisdiction of Boat Basin police station.
Police said that Minhaj Zulfiqar, 55, a resident of the same area was returning home after withdrawing money from a bank when unidentified culprits shot him to death. Police said that deceased was settled in Australia and had rented his house in Block-7, Clifton, adding that he, along with his wife and a son, had arrived homeland about ten days ago.
Police revealed that victim was bound for Australia on Wednesday night, adding that victim was apparently killed over a robbing bid while further investigation was underway.
In another incident, an owner of a pan shop was gunned down while another was wounded near Matric Board Office within the remits of North Nazimabad police station.
Police said that victim Samiullah, 36, was killed while his cousin Tariq, 32, was wounded in a targeted attack at the said place. DSP Haider Ali said that the victims were present at pan shop when unidentified armed man opened indiscriminate fire on them. Resultantly, they sustained multiple bullet injuries and were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), where doctor pronounced Samiullah dead while admitted Tariq. DSP Ali said that the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained, while further investigation was in underway.
Separately, a man was shot dead near Jackson Bazaar within the jurisdiction of Jackson police station.
Police said that victim, identified as Hanif Khan, 22, son of Bacha Khan, a resident of Machar Colony was going somewhere on his motorcycle where unidentified culprits riding a motorcycle opened fire at him. Resultantly, he sustained twice bullets in upper torso and died on the spot. The body was handed over to family after completing medicolegal formalities at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC). Police said that the motive behind the incident was personal dispute.
In the meantime, a scrap dealer was gunned down in sector 19-D, Shah Lateef within the remits of Shah Lateef police station.
Police said that victim Moosa Khan, 45, son of Banaras Khan, a resident of the same area, was present at his shop where three men came to meet him and opened fire at him after resistance. Resultantly, he sustained critical wounds and was shifted to JPMC where doctor pronounced him dead. Police said that the motive behind the incident was financial dispute.
Elsewhere, a man was gunned down in sector 7-A, Surjani within the jurisdictions of Surjani Town police station.
Police said that victim Khalid AKA Ganja, 26, son of Shair Shah, a resident of the same area, was standing near his residence where unidentified armed riders sprayed bullets on him and managed to flee. Resultantly, he succumbed to his injuries on way to ASH. Police said that the motive behind his killing has yet to be ascertained.
BOY KILLED IN WEDDING CEREMONY: An 11-year-old boy was killed while other was injured when participants of a wedding ceremony resorted to firing for celebration in Bhains Colony area in Sukkan Police precincts.
Reportedly, Participants of a wedding opened fire to celebrate marriage in which 11-year-old Murtaza was shot dead while 9-year-old Sohail was injured. However, the police claimed to have arrested a suspect Khalid Riaz who resorted to firing .Further investigation is underway.
