KARACHI – A man was killed while four others wounded in a clash between two groups during funeral procession of a KESC official here on Wednesday.

According to police, the funeral procession of Farhan Khalil - killed in car bombing in North Nazimabad on Tuesday - was on way to Yasinabad graveyard when a clash erupted between the procession participants and the residents of the Hussain Hazara Goth.

Police said that participants of the procession wanted to search the locality to avoid any terrorist incident which was objected by the residents which lead to clash.

Resultantly, a local leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, Nadeem Magsi, 24, son of Fareed Magsi, was killed while his companion Mazhar Chachar and three MQM workers namely Afsar, Yasir and Mughal were wounded.

During the clash, unidentified persons also set a car on fire near Safari Park. Extra contingent of law enforcers reached the site and cordoned off the locality.

However, Khalil was later laid to rest amid tense situation. Police registered a case and further investigation was underway with no arrest made so far.
