TOBA TEK SINGH – All markets and bazaars remained closed as mourning over the death of local political leader and Nawai-i-Waqt columnist Qazi Ghiasuddin Janbaz on Wednesday.

After offering his funeral prayer, the business activities started after. Scores of people attended his funeral prayer in central graveyard. He spent 11 years in jails in Ayub, Yahya and Zia martial laws and a continuous spell of five years when he was released on the efforts of then PFUJ president late Nisar Osmani in 1982. He was also tortured in Lahore Fort when he was PPP CEC member by Zia government. Janbaz was father of The News correspondent Arif Ghias and cousin of CPNE President Jamil Athar Qazi.
