LAHORE – Pakistan Davis Cup team training camp commences today (Thursday) here at the K-21 Model Town Sports Club. Pakistan will play its Davis Cup ties against New Zealand at Rangoon, Myanmar from April 5 to 7.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has selected K-21 Model Town Sports Club for the training camp.

Talking to this scribe Wednesday, advisor to the PTF president Rao Akbar Latif, who is also president of K-21 Club, said he would try his best to provide every possible assistance to Davis Cup squad in terms of facilitating the players with access to Gym facility, physical fitness training and practice sessions at lush green tennis courts.

Top national tennis player Aqeel Khan said that club had provided all the basic facilities to the players including provision of ball boys and court management staff and players would have good time here till 29th of this month. “Pakistan have good record playing on grass thus it is presumed that Pakistan will give their best against potential Kiwis and try to bring laurels for the country.”
