BAHAWALPUR - The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has once again won the first prize in the floral competition of Civil Category at Bahawalpur Cantonment and received 4 first prizes in different categories of the annual Flower Show arranged by the Cantonment Board.

The IUB floral stalls, Vice-Chancellor’s House, VVIP Guest House, IUB and the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat won first prizes in the flower show. The Annual Flower Show and Garden competition-2013 was held here at Noor Mahal, Bahawalpur Cantt in which Corps Commander of Bahawalpur Lt-Gen Zubair Mehmood Hayat and Vice-Chancellor, Islamia University Dr Muhammad Mukhtar were the chief guests who inspected the floral stalls and highly appreciated the beautifully designed stalls which largely attracted and impressed the guests.

A number of civil and military formations took part in the competition in which the Islamia University of Bahawalpur retained its old tradition of winning first prize in the civil category competitions on which the vice-chancellor congratulated the head of the Estate Care Department of the university, Karamat Mehmood, and his staff over winning prizes and retaining the old traditions alive of getting first prize in the floral shows of the city and.

It is worth mentioning that the university was giving special attention to promote pollution free environment through gardening, flowers and tree plantation at its all campuses including Bahawalpur, Bahawal Nagar and Rahim Yar Khan. Meanwhile, the Sadiq Public School received 2nd Prize in the competition.
