NIC summons HU reply on 29th





ISLAMABAD - The National Industrial Commission on Wednesday issued notice to Director General of Hamdard University Islamabad to explain the ground on which the administration of this university has dismissed services of one of its employees - In charge Computer Laboratory.
“Contends that he was appointed as Computer Lab In charge in Hamdard University with effect from 07.07.2000. Suddenly, he was terminated vide termination letter dated 21-12.2012 without due course of law, need consideration. Let a pre-admission notice be issued to respondents for 29-03-2013,” says a notification issued from the National Industrial Commission Islamabad.  It is pertinent to mention here that Irfan Malik had filed a writ petition in Islamabad bench of National Industrial Court Lahore Stating that he has been working in the above mentioned university since 2000 as In charge of Computer Laboratory of Hamdard University Islamabad campus. He maintained that the management of the university terminated him after 12 years of hard work that too contrary to the rules and regulations.
“Where on the abolition of a post or reduction in the number of posts in a grade, the services of an employee are required to be terminated, the person whose services are terminated shall ordinary be the one who is the most junior in that grade,” Irfan told the labour court quoting the existent rules and regulations of Hamdard university.
The petitioned requested the court to cancel the termination order and direct the university administration to reinstate him with full back benefits.
While accepting the petition for hearing, the court issued notice to administration stating that the issue be settled according to rules and regulations.
