ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Education Atlas project was formally launched on Wednesday to improve the dissemination of educational statistics and indicators by using GIS (Geographical Information System) technologies. The project, initiated in April 2010, has been completed with collaboration of World Food Program and the erstwhile Ministry of Education and Training through (NEMIS) and the AEPAM, Islamabad.The Federal Minister for Education and Training Sheikh Waqas appreciated the efforts of AEPAM and paid special thanks to World Food Program. He said this new system would help us make sound educational planning, monitoring and evaluation. He desired that the system be extended to union council level.
